Indication & Dosage: Midostar (Midostaurin), generic Rydapt is a prescription medicine used to treat certain types of blood cell cancer (acute myeloid leukemia- AML) that is newly diagnosed FLT3 mutation positive as detected by an FDA-approved test. Midostaurin is also used to treat aggressive systemic mastocytosis (ASM), systemic mastocytosis with associated hematological neoplasm (SM-AHN), or mast cell leukemia(MCL). Midostar manufactured by Zydus Pharma Ltd. in India. Midostaurin has to take orally twice daily with food. Side Effects: The most common side effects of Midostaurin are: Febrile neutropenia (low level of white blood cells with fever), nausea , redness , pain , vomiting , headache , bruising , muscle or bone pain , nose bleeds, hyperglycemia (high blood sugar levels), upper respiratory infection, QT prolongation (abnormal electrocardiogram), diarrhea , constipation , fever .
