Indication & Dosage: Bleonix (Bleomycin), generic BLENOXANE is a prescription medicine used to treat slowing or stopping cancer cell growth. Bleomycin also helps control pleural effusion (fluid around the lungs) caused by tumors, administered via chest tube. As a palliative treatment, Bleonix is effective for several cancers, including squamous cell carcinoma (in areas like the head, neck, cervix, and skin), lymphomas (Hodgkin's and non-Hodgkin's), and testicular carcinoma. Bleomycin is also useful for managing malignant pleural effusion. Response may be poorer in patients with previously irradiated head and neck cancer.
