Indication & Dosage: Adlumiz (Anamorelin) is a prescription medicine used to treat multifactorial syndrome of metabolic dysregulation, associated with cancer cachexia, that leads to reduced body weight (mainly muscle mass) and anorexia. Anamorelin adversely affects patients’ QOL and survival. Adlumiz is a novel, selective, and oral ghrelin receptor agonist. Anamorelin activates ghrelin receptor-mediated pathways that regulate body weight, muscle mass, appetite, and metabolism. Adlumiz improves body weight, muscle mass, and appetite in patients with cancer cachexia. Anamorelin also works for Non-small cell lung cancer, gastric cancer, pancreatic cancer and colorectal cancer. Adlumiz manufactured by Ono pharma Ltd. in Japan. Anamorelin has to take orally once daily without food or at least 1 hour before the first meal of the day.
