Indication & Dosage: Prezcobix (Darunavir + Cobicistat) is a prescription medication that is used with other Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 (HIV-1) medicines to treat HIV-1 infection in adults and in children who weigh at least 88 pounds (40 kg). HIV-1 is the virus that causes Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). Darunavir + Cobicistat contains two drugs: darunavir, a protease inhibitor, and cobicistat, a booster. Darunavir + Cobicistat lowers HIV in patient’s body and strengthens patient’s immune system. Darunavir + Cobicistat prevents HIV complications and improves patient’s well-being. Darunavir + Cobicistat does not cure HIV. To prevent transmission, follow patient’s HIV medication regimen, use a barrier method during sex, and do not share personal items with blood or fluids.
