Indication & Dosage: Decitex (Decitabine), generic Dacogen is a prescription medicine used to treat myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), a cancer of the blood/ bone marrow in which the bone marrow does not produce enough healthy blood cells. Decitabine is also used to treat acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Decitex manufactured by Sun Pharma Ltd. in India. Decitabine can be injected once a day for 5 days in a row or injected every 8 hours for 3 days in a row, as directed by the doctor. Patient's treatment cycle will be repeated every 4 weeks if they are on a 5 days course, or every 6 weeks if they are on a 3 days course, and depending on their response to the medication and blood tests. Side Effects: The most common adverse reactions of Decitabine are: Redness/ pain/ bruising at the injection site, nausea , constipation, diarrhea, vomiting , upset stomach , trouble sleeping, hair loss, or muscle/ joint pain.
