Indication & Dosage: ZALTRAP (AFLIBERCEPT), generic Eylea is a prescription medication used to treat of several retinal disorders associated with abnormal blood vessel growth and fluid leakage, including neovascular (wet) age-related macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema, diabetic retinopathy, and macular edema following retinal vein occlusion. AFLIBERCEPT is also approved for managing retinopathy of prematurity in preterm infants. In its systemic formulation, ziv-aflibercept (Zaltrap) is used in combination with chemotherapy for the treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer that has progressed following prior oxaliplatin-based therapy. ZALTRAP Manufactured by SANOFI Pharma Ltd. in Turkey. AFLIBERCEPT is administered as an intravitreal injection into the affected eye, typically performed under sterile, over one hour every two weeks. Side Effects: The most common adverse reactions are: Blindness, bloody eye, eye or eyelid redness, eye pain, seeing flashes, sparks of light, or a veil or curtain, seeing floating spots before the eyes, vision changes.
