Indication & Dosage: Udiliva (Ursodeoxycholic Acid), generic Actigall is a prescription medicine used to treat of cholestasis (jaundice), primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC), non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), viral hepatitis, alcoholic fatty liver disease, primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC), and the dissolution of cholesterol gallstones. UDCA is a naturally occurring hydrophilic bile acid derived from cholesterol and constitutes a minor component of the human bile acid pool. Oral administration increases its proportion in bile in a dose-dependent manner, allowing it to displace toxic, hydrophobic bile acids that accumulate in cholestatic liver diseases. Udiliva manufactured by Everest Pharma Ltd. in Bangladesh. Ursodeoxycholic acid has to take orally 13-15 mg/kg/day in 2-4 divided doses for Primary Biliary Cirrhosis, 13-15 mg/kg/day for Non-Alcoholic Steato Hepatitis, 10-15 mg/kg/day for Acute Viral Hepati Side Effects: The most common side effects of Ursodeoxycholic Acid are: Upset stomach or stomach pain, Diarrhea or constipation, Nausea, Dizziness, Infection in the nose or throat, sore throat, or common cold symptoms, Hair loss, Itching or rash.
