About this medicine

Ponatinib hydrochloride is a kinase inhibitor indicated in adult patients for: Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (Ph+ ALL) — in combination with chemotherapy in newly diagnosed Ph+ ALL; as monotherapy in Ph+ ALL for whom no other kinase inhibitor is indicated, or in T315I-positive Ph+ ALL. Chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML) — chronic-phase (CP) CML with resistance or intolerance to at least two prior kinase inhibitors; accelerated-phase (AP) or blast-phase (BP) CML for whom no other kinase inhibitor is indicated; and T315I-positive CML (chronic, accelerated or blast phase). Limitation of use: ponatinib is not indicated and is not recommended for the treatment of patients with newly diagnosed CP-CML.
